Victory Gunner or Indian Scout?

Okay, so maybe it's not an exact apples to apples comparison, but after seeing and sitting on a Scout I'm wondering if it might be a better bike for me.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to drive the Scout due to the weather (15 degrees above zero with icy roads), so I'm wondering if anyone out there in Gunner-land has driven the Indian Scout. If so, what are your thoughts? How does it compare to the Gunner?

Here are some basic (and subjective) pros and cons:

Scout

Pro:
Sweet looking (IMHO slightly better looking than the Gunner)
water cooled
$2,000 less than the Gunner
lighter and more maneuverable
it's an Indian (okay, so that might not mean much. But it is cool to own a bike with such history

Con:
smaller engine (after 65 mph I heard it picks up some vibration)
according to some reviews the riding position gets fatiguing after 50 miles or so
first year of production may yield some problems/recalls later

Gunner

Pro:
Power (longer rides would be more comfortable)
comfortable riding position (again, long rides would be comfortable)
Proven engine
Great warranty

Con:
More expensive
not quite as nice looking as the Scout

Any additions to the pro/con list would be greatly appreciated.

A good shoot-out review (and video) of popular cruisers.

I think it depends on what your priorities. The Indian will be cheaper and looks cool so if you are more concerned with the look than go with that. If you care more about power go with the Victory.

Good point.
I know I wouldn't

Just have to keep in mind it's for the long term and and experience you want to make the best of.

I almost feel as if the difference in price shouldn't be mentioned because of how little it will matter come time to decide which one to get.

You do have a point.
But when it comes to comparing, for the sake of the comparison, I think it should be included.

I think you should go with whichever one you like better regardless of price.

Hello
Interesting topic and interesting forum.
I face the same difficult choice : Scout or Gunner, knowing that both here in Europe are at the same price : 13000 euros (at this price both have the mandatory ABS)
The Gunner seems to me a better value at this price than the Scout. But probably the Scout will have a better resell value. Indians are starting to be very popular here in France ( Chief vintage) but Victory are still unknown.
Any help ? Especially people who have test drive both.
Thank you
