Very happy with the 8-ball. A bit of pride in that they are made (assembled at least in IA). I bought it new in 2009, had the swept exhaust put on before I rode it away from the dealer. The seat looks stock but it is actually made by Corbin and has a stiched Victory logo. The windshield works better than I had hopped and I think it fits good (looks good) also.
I would like to get passenger peg brackets but I haven't been able to justify the stealers price. The passenger peg brackets have a third spot on them for attaching the semi-hard bag attachment brackets (that's two sets of brackets), but they seem very stable just using the two attachment points. I like the rear fender carrier seen on some of the GUNNERS but being a septuagenarian I need the bags to carry all my drugs and snacks and extra clothes and such.
The half 8-ball covering the 5-speed badge on the right side is the top of an Avon after-shave bottle stuck on with 3-M outdoor mounting tape (the NEW handyman's secret weapon!)
I was at the local dealer -VICTORY,BMW,HONDA,YAMAHA- today, they said it looks like the early April delivery date for the GUNNER has been pushed back. :-(
THE 8-ball is very comfortable, and I have no problem changing from the very different riding position of the ST's. My feet sometimes hit the deck after I have been riding the ST1300 if I don't remember to stretch my legs out a little further when getting on the 8-ball.
Looking forward to one of you guys posting a first ride report!
