Whats in a Name?

Rumor has it that the 2015 Victory Gunner is named after Victory spokesman, R. Lee Ermey, who is rather well known as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman from “Full Metal Jacket,” he was an actual drill sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps...

Not for anything but does anyone find the rationale a little cheesy, if not lazy?

I don't really see how "Gunner" was derived from R. Lee Emrey, but anyways...

I think its a good name for a bike. Has a lot of personality. Tells you something about the bike. You know that it will be aggressive looking.

i like the name, don't care much for where it came from. it seems suitable for what the bike is expected to be.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman played R. Lee Emery, spokesperson for Victory.

A Gunnery Sergeant is shortened to "Gunny".

In a Division unit of any Marine Corps Battalion a "Gunner" is a Warrant Officer specifically trained to recognize and know everything about Munitions that can possible be used against our forces. They wear a bursting bomb on the collar opposite of their rank.

Sometimes uninformed people will call all warrant officers "Gunners" that is incorrect. There is only one type of Gunner.

This is something the "Gunny" would know.

R. Lee Ermey is the Man !!! Spokesperson for Victory, Glock, and SOG. I'll ride with him any day. Talking bad about "The Gunny" is fighting words!

Now I have 2 good reasons owning a Gunner, great bike and named after The Gunny. It just don't get any better than this.

Love you Gunny, mean it, lets do lunch!

Good meaning behind the name, at least it's a name with a story behind it and not just a name. Victory did their homework.
